Here is the problem: RSI is sitting at 38.9, one tick above oversold territory. Textbook says this is a bounce zone. But look at the structure: EMA 9 (84.78) is trading below EMA 21 (85.4) — a bearish alignment that has held for 9 candles. MACD printed -1.26 with the histogram still accelerating negative at -0.37. The bias is explicitly bearish on the 4H timeframe.

When RSI says oversold but the trend says distribution, one of them is lying.

The Sentiment Context

Fear & Greed sits at 12 — Extreme Fear. This is the third time this month the index has dipped into single digits (week ago: 10, month ago: 6). Every single-digit reading in the past 60 days preceded a short-term bounce of at least 4% within 72 hours. The sentiment crowd is so bearish that they became the exit liquidity.

But here is what is different this time: the volume profile shows decreasing volume on the decline. That is not selling pressure — that is lack of buying. Big difference. The market is not dumping; it is simply not buying.

The Doji Signal

Two candles ago, SOL printed a doji — a textbook indecision pattern at the 82.09 support level. This is the second time this support has been tested in 31 candles. If it holds, we could see a relief rally. If it breaks, the next support is 77.12 — a full 7% drop from current levels.

The setup is a long if price reclaims 86.72 (the 2-touch resistance) with a stop below 82.09. That gives you an R:R of roughly 1:2 — not spectacular, but the confluence is.

What Would Change My Mind

A 4H close below 77.12 invalidates the bounce thesis entirely. Also watching BTC — if BTC breaks down hard from its current range, SOL follows regardless of its own RSI.
