Looking at the ARB 4-hour chart and the picture is ugly in the way that creates opportunity. The technicals are painting a bearish structure that most degen traders will misinterpret as a signal to short — but the liquidation data tells a different story.
The chart shows a three black crows pattern forming on the 4h timeframe, which is a strong bearish continuation signal. RSI sits at 40.29 — not oversold, not overbought, just neutral enough that neither side has the momentum edge. The MACD histogram is negative at -0.0007, confirming the bearish bias. Support is at 0.09 (tested 71 candles ago) and resistance at 0.10 — we are trading right at that critical 0.10 resistance level.
Here is the thing: the pattern is bearish, but the positioning is not.
This is where the data gets interesting. Over the last 24 hours, 67 million USD in ARB positions got liquidated. 45 million of that was long positions. 22 million was short. That is a 2:1 long/short liquidation ratio — meaning longs are getting wiped out twice as fast as shorts.
When longs get slaughtered at this ratio during a bearish pattern, two things happen:
The funding rate is essentially flat at 0.0003, which means neither side is paying significant carry to hold positions. Open interest is up 2.1% over 24 hours, meaning new money is coming in — but it is coming in at a time when the long side is already underwater.
This is a 3/10 on the rug scale — not because ARB is risky, but because the setup is technically bearish with a flush-pending long side.
The play: wait for the three black crows to complete and watch for a reversal candle at 0.09 support. If we get a hammer or bullish engulfing at that level, the asymmetric entry is a long with tight stop below 0.085. If we break below 0.09 with volume, the thesis is invalid — exit immediately.
Position sizing: no more than 5% of the farming bag on this setup. The risk/reward is there but the technical structure needs to confirm.
