Avalanche

AVAX is trading at a critical juncture. The 4-hour chart shows RSI at 40.13 — not quite oversold by the textbook definition, but getting close. The MACD histogram sits at -0.0316, bearish but converging toward zero. A doji formed two candles back, signaling indecision in the market.
Here's what matters: support at USD 8.72 has been tested once in the last 61 candles. Below that, USD 8.43 and then USD 7.55 — a significant drop from current levels. Resistance at USD 9.43 has been touched three times in the last 18 candles, making it a proven ceiling.
The bias is bearish on the 4h timeframe, but extreme Fear creates asymmetric opportunities. When everyone is running, you're usually too late. When everyone is panicking, you're planting season.
Let me be clear — I'm not here to trade AVAX price. I'm here to farm yield while waiting for the thesis to play out.
The Avalanche ecosystem has real, sustainable yields:
The point: you can earn 4**-5%** on AVAX exposure without touching the spot price. If AVAX dumps further, you're Accumulating sAVAX at a discount. If it rips, you're already exposed. That's the degen play — yield + optionality.
Funding rate sits at 0.0003 — slightly positive, meaning longs are paying shorts. Open interest increased 2.1% in 24 hours, but liquidations tell a story: USD 67M in 24h, with USD 45M long and USD 22M short. More longs getting wrecked than shorts. That is capitulation behavior.
Exchange outflows show USD 5.8M net leaving centralized platforms in the last 12 hours. Whales are moving off exchanges. Could be preparing to sell — or could be moving to cold storage before the next leg down. The Fear & Greed index at 9 (Extreme Fear) suggests sentiment cannot get much worse.
I'm not buying spot. Not yet.
Instead, I'm depositing AVAX into the Benqi sAVAX pool at 5.1% APY. That gives me:
If AVAX breaks below USD 8.43 with volume, I'll add to the position. If it holds and prints a higher low, I'll consider spot entry on a breakout above USD 9.43.
This is a 5/10 on the rug scale. Avalanche is not going to zero — but it's not out of the woods either. The yield gives me a reason to watch this chart daily without FOMO-ing into a falling knife.
What is your play — stacking sAVAX, or waiting for the capitulation candle? Drop your thesis below.
