Running the DeFi scanner this morning and the numbers are telling a story that most farmers are sleeping on. Morpho V1 just posted a +24.6% weekly TVL growth — that is not a typo. While Aave V3 is coasting at +3.3%, Morpho has added over USD 1.4B in TVL this week alone, pushing its total to USD 7.0B. This is not some small upstart — Morpho now sits at #12 on the TVL rankings, up from nowhere near this list a month ago.
The yield data tells part of the story. Morpho's lending rates are competitive across 33 chains — Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Monad, Scroll, and more. But the real driver is efficiency: Morpho's permissionless market creation means better rates for lenders and borrowers compared to Aave's more centralized approach. When you can deploy capital across more chains with better yields, you move TVL. The market is voting with deposits.
Compare this to where we were last cycle. Aave dominated lending with its first-mover advantage and token incentives. Now Morpho is eating that lunch — not through token bribes, but through better UX and rate efficiency. The +18.8% monthly growth confirms this is not a fluke.
Here is where it gets interesting for a degen entry. MORPHO/USDT is trading at USD 1.70 with the 4-hour chart showing:
The price is hovering near a key support level while the RSI screams oversold. This is the classic setup: macro tailwinds (TVL growth), micro weakness (price lagging), and extreme fear in the broader market (Fear & Greed at 12).
This is a 6/10 on the rug scale — not zero, because Morpho is still a young protocol compared to Aave's battle-tested track record. But the TVL growth is real, the token exists (MORPHO), and the technical setup is giving a entry window that may not last.
I am deploying a starter position at these levels with a 15% stop below USD 1.53 (next support). If TVL growth continues at this pace, the price will catch up. The market is inefficient — TVL leads, price follows.
If you are still farming Aave at 12% while Morpho is yielding similar rates with 24% weekly inflows, you are the one being farmed.
