Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) just added another 4,871 BTC to its holdings, acquiring the tokens for approximately USD 329.9 million at an average price of USD 67,740 per coin. This brings their total holdings to 766,970 BTC, worth roughly USD 52.4 billion at current prices. The purchase was confirmed via SEC filing on April 7th, and the market response has been notably muted given the scale of the acquisition.
The key narrative here is not just the purchase itself — it is the consistency. Strategy has now accumulated over three-quarters of a million Bitcoin across multiple tranches over the past several years, regardless of price action. This is not speculative positioning. This is corporate treasury policy executed with military precision.
The 4-hour chart reveals a market in indecision. Bitcoin is currently trading at approximately USD 68,400, sitting just above the 9-period EMA at 68,349 and the 21-period EMA at 68,047. The RSI sits at 52.42 — neutral territory, neither overbought nor oversold.
However, the MACD is telling a different story. The MACD line crossed below the signal line, with the histogram printing negative at -32.33. This bearish crossover, combined with increasing volume, suggests short-term selling pressure. The support levels to watch are USD 67,360 and USD 66,611, while resistance sits at USD 69,310 and USD 70,351.
A doji candle formed four periods ago — a classic indecision signal suggesting the market is waiting for a catalyst.
The Strategy purchase is the antithesis of retail behavior. While Fear & Greed sits at extreme fear levels and social media bleeds doom, a publicly traded company is deploying hundreds of millions of dollars into Bitcoin. The spread between their average purchase price and current market price is narrow — they are not buying at bottoms. They are buying at fair value, according to their thesis.
The corporate treasury narrative has now fully materialized. We are watching the accumulation phase of what may become standard corporate asset allocation. The question is not whether more companies will follow — it is how long the market will ignore this structural demand.
Watch the USD 66,600 support level. If it holds, the Strategy buying becomes an even more powerful contrarian signal.
