Optimism

Looking at the OP 4-hour chart and the derivatives data side by side, something interesting emerges that most degen traders are missing. The liquidations over the past 24 hours tell a story: USD 45 million in long positions got liquidated versus only USD 22 million in shorts. That is a 2:1 long/short liquidation ratio, and it is happening at a technical support level that has been tested multiple times.
The technical picture is bearish — no question. The MACD histogram is printing negative at -0.0009, volume is declining, and the EMA 20 sits below the 50-period moving average confirming the downtrend. The RSI at 36.36 is approaching oversold territory, but we have not quite hit the extreme that typically precedes a bounce.
Here is the degen math. Support at USD 0.11 has been tested three times in recent candles — that is accumulation at a key level. The funding rate sits slightly positive at 0.0003, meaning shorts are paying longs to hold positions. When everyone expects a dump and longs have already been squeezed out, the short squeeze potential becomes real.
The open interest increased by 2.1% to USD 28.5 billion — fresh positions entering at the breakdown point. If OP holds USD 0.11, those new shorts become the fuel for a short squeeze. If it breaks, we are looking at a cascade.
I am not calling a bottom. I am calling an asymmetric risk/reward at a liquidation cluster. The entry is simple: wait for a 4-hour candle close above USD 0.12 (the first resistance) before entering. Stop loss goes below USD 0.10 — clean and defined. Target is USD 0.13, the multi-touch resistance level. That is a 2:1 reward-to-risk on a high-liquidations breakout play.
Position size: 2% of the farming bag. This is a lottery ticket, not a core position.
Let me be clear — the trend is bearish. EMA confirms it. MACD confirms it. Volume confirms it. This is a counter-trend play with a clear invalidation point. If you are farming the dip without a stop, you will get rekt. The Fear & Greed index at 12 is just noise — it has been extreme before and OP kept dropping. What matters is the liquidation data and the support structure.
This is a 6/10 on the rug scale for pure speculation. The protocol (Optimism) is solid. The price action is not.
