Solana

SOL is trapped in a consolidation zone with a bearish bias, but the momentum is starting to wobble. The 4-hour chart shows RSI at 38.86 — not quite oversold territory, but close enough that selling pressure is exhausting. EMA 9 (USD 80.37) sits below EMA 21 (USD 81.92), confirming the downtrend structure, but MACD histogram has turned slightly positive at +0.055 after a long stretch of red bars. That is the first divergence in weeks.
The immediate support stack is clear: USD 78.96 (tested 41 candles ago) and USD 76.7 (tested 19 candles ago). Resistance at USD 81.26 has been touched twice in the last week — that is your inflection point. A close above there flips the bias. Below 78.96, the downside extends toward 76 and then it gets ugly.
Here is what makes this interesting: Fear & Greed is sitting at 12 (Extreme Fear), the same level as a month ago. But derivatives data tells a different story. Funding is slightly negative at -0.009381%, open interest sits at USD 778 million, and there were zero liquidations in 24 hours. Let me repeat that — zero. No one is getting rekt because no one is trading. The market has thinned out to almost nothing.
That is not panic. That is exhaustion.
When extreme fear prints alongside zero liquidations and flat OI, you are looking at a market that has already priced in the worst. The shorts are not accumulating — they are sitting on their hands waiting for a breakdown that may not come.
Look at the candle pattern on the 4-hour: a bearish engulfing at the -1 position, but five candles back was a doji showing indecision. The volume is decreasing. The MACD histogram is turning green. The price is compressing toward support rather than crashing through it.
This is the setup where the market sucks in the bears, then rips.
The question is not whether SOL can bounce — it is whether the bounce happens before another capitulation wick takes out the remaining bids. I am watching 81.26 as the trigger level. A clean break above there with volume is your confirmation.
If you are waiting for panic to sell into, you will be waiting a long time. The panic already happened — it just did not show up in the liquidations because nobody is left to liquidate.
NFA. DYOR. But if you are not watching this compression, good luck.
